Virtus Bologna, CEO Baraldi: "We have taken all the steps we could take to get the license"
In today's interview with “Il Resto del Carlino - Bologna,” Virtus CEO Luca Baraldi talked about the club's future in the EuroLeague. The "Vnere" still do not have a wild card for next season, for which there are five teams in the running for four spots (Crvena Zvezda, Partizan Belgrade, Alba and Valencia, in addition to Virtus). “We are aware that we have taken all the steps we could take to get the license,” Baraldi began. “In the meeting we had in April this effort was acknowledged to us and that is why I think it went well. For them the issue of the new arena is fundamental and from this point of view BolognaFiere told us that in the fall of 2026 the new facility will be ready. In the meantime, always thanks to an agreement with them, we will have at our disposal the current arena without which we could not play in the Euroleague.”
Baraldi also talked about the final against Olimpia Milano in Serie A. “I hope the court factor will continue to make a difference as it did last year. If this is the case, we will have an advantage that will help us compete against Milano, a very strong opponent that in the return leg has beaten three of the four teams that played in the Euroleague final four.”
