Barcelona loses Chimezie Metu to injury. The blaugrana club announced that the player suffered a grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. “The player will follow a conservative plan of treatment and will be out of action for six to eight weeks”. Metu, 27, first came to Europe in the summer after six years in the NBA between the San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons. In his first games with Barca he scored 7.9 points with 4.4 rebounds in EuroLeague with a PIR of 7.2 per game, while in Liga Endesa he averaged 11.1 points and 2.6 rebounds. Bad news for the Spanish club, which had already lost Nico Laprovittola to a serious injury few weeks ago.
