Official: Vassilis Spanoulis is the new head coach of AS Monaco Basket
Now it's official: Vassilis Spanoulis is the new head coach of AS Monaco Basket. He has been announced by the team and he will make his debut in the Round 12 of the EuroLeague, when Mike James and his teammates will face Panathinaikos AKTOR (29/11) in Oaka. Spanoulis will take Sasa Obradovic's spot at the helm of the club. It will be the third coaching adventure for the former EuroLeague star who coached Peristeri in Greece and will continue as coach of the Hellenic national team until at least 2025, when his current contract expires. As a player, Spanoulis had an outstanding career: three-time EuroLeague champion, European champion with Greece in 2005, and he was the top scorer in EuroLeague history until he was surpassed by Mike James, who will now coach in Monaco.
