Let's make it happen.” That's how NBA player D'Angelo Russell comments on Instagram on the rumor from Lithuania about his alleged desire to play for the Baltic national team. The Ohio State product could get a passport, as he is married to Laura Ivaniukas, a Lithuanian, and the two also have two children. Although Lithuania does not have easy procedures for citizenship, President Gitanas Nauseda recently granted it to Allison Reed, a U.S. ice skater who received her passport in November after being denied twice. “The presidential institution is aware of the player and her connection to Lithuania, but formal procedures for citizenship have not yet been initiated,” spokesmen for President Nauseda told Pakenas of 15min.

D'Angelo Russell entered the NBA in 2015 with the second pick in the draft. He played his first two years with the Lakers before coming to Brooklyn via trade. His past also includes Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves before returning to the Lakers where he has been playing since 2022/23. In his career he boasts 586 games in the American League averaging 17.6 points per game, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 36.8% from three-point range. In 2018/19, his fourth year in the NBA, he was also an NBA All-Star and the following year between the Warriors and Timberwolves he finished with an average of over 23 points.
