Saben Lee officially parted ways with Maccabi, rejoin Manisa Basket
Saben Lee's adventure at Maccabi Tel Aviv has already ended. Manisa Basket announced the return of the US guard, who had left the Turkish club to land in the EuroLeague. The Israelis brought Lee to the team after Jordan Loyd left for Monaco, and in his debut in the top ECA competition the player showed his full potential. However, something went wrong: Lee and Maccabi had agreed that for security reasons, he would not return to Israel with the team to play league games. It was a situation that displaced coach Oded Kattash, who explained after the last match against Olimpia Milan how it was impossible to work with Lee without being with the team daily.
The return to Manisa for Lee is great news for the Turkish club. The early-season guard made headlines for a stellar start, averaging 39.5 points on 65.7 percent shooting, as well as 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in his first two Basketball Champions League games. He also equaled the record in the competition with his 43 points scored on the road against FMP Belgrade. Numbers that led Maccabi to decide to invest in him. Before his European debut, Lee spent four seasons in the NBA, averaging 5.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 134 games for the Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers
