Despite having the best record of the NBA season with 41 wins and 10 losses, the Cleveland Cavaliers are not resting and finalize a trade just hours before the deadline. Coming to Ohio is forward De'Andre Hunter, a deal that had been discussed with the Atlanta Hawks in the previous days. In the end, the trade package required to complete the deal includes Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three future second-round draft picks, and two “pick swaps”, per ESPN's Shams Charania.

Hunter is in his sixth season, all of which have been with Atlanta. The forward is averaging 19.0 points per game with 3.9 rebounds in 28.8 minutes, shooting over 39% from three-point range. He has a guaranteed contract through the 2026/27 season, in which he will earn $24,910,714.
LeVert, 30, is averaging 10.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.8 rebounds this season. He was in his fourth season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and has a $16 million contract expiring at the end of the year.
Niang, 31, is averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists so far this season. The #50 pick in the 2016 Draft has been with Cleveland since 2023 after signing a three-year, $26 million deal during free agency. His contract expires at the end of the 2025/26 season and is worth about $8.2 million.
