ASVEL Villeurbanne announces signing of Ben Bentil
Ben Bentil’s adventure in Naples comes to an end after 11 games. The Ghanaian forward exercised the opt-out clause in his contract for the EuroLeague and has been officially announced by ASVEL Villeurbanne. In his second stint in Italy, following his time with Milano, Bentil averaged 14.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in LegaBasket Serie A. EuroLeague clubs have until February 26 to register new players, as transfers have been closed since December. ASVEL, with a current record of 10 wins and 12 losses, had long been seeking reinforcements in the frontcourt, especially after the injury to Mbaye Ndiaye. Bentil has played in the top-tier ECA competition for four seasons: the first two with Panathinaikos, followed by a season with Olimpia in 2021/22 and another with Red Star in 2022/23.
