NBA Trade! Jericho Sims to join Milwaukee Bucks from the Knicks
Jericho Sims has been traded by the New York Knicks and will join the Milwaukee Bucks. In return, New York receives Delon Wright and a cash consideration. There was also a swap of draft rights: New York sent the rights to Panathinaikos star Mathias Lessort in exchange for those of former Varese player Hugo Besson. The Bucks were already mentioned as a potential destination for Sims, who had also drawn interest from both Los Angeles teams. The 58th pick in the 2021 Draft, Sims has played 39 games this season, averaging 10.8 minutes per game—the lowest mark of his career—while posting 1.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He is on an expiring $2.1 million contract.
New York, on the other hand, acquires Wright, a 32-year-old guard in his first season with the Bucks after signing as a free agent last summer. Wright has struggled offensively, averaging 2.5 points in 26 games while shooting just 26.8% from the field and 24.5% from three. Like Sims, he is on an expiring $2.1 million minimum-salary contract. It remains to be seen whether the Knicks will trade him again before tonight's trade deadline or waive him to free up a roster spot.
