Brooklyn Nets, Tyrese Martin signs standard contract

Tyrese Martin will stay with the Brooklyn Nets. The team has decided to convert his two-way contract into a standard contract, as reported by Brian Lewis of the New York Post. Martin has played a significant role in coach Jordi Fernandez's rotations: in 36 games, he averaged 21 minutes per game, with 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. With his current contract, he was no longer eligible to play NBA games, having reached the limit set by the two-way contract. "No one deserves it more than him. He worked all summer. He’s important for what we're trying to build here; he helps us build the culture... the most important thing is that he’s doing it for the right reasons. He works every day, getting better. We love him," said coach Fernandez.
