Real Madrid and Zalgiris: limited time to replace Smith Jr. and Walker

In the span of 24 hours, two former NBA players, both making their first EuroLeague appearances, decided to leave the competition. This happened in Madrid with Dennis Smith Jr., whose adventure with the Blancos lasted only 35 total minutes on the court. The player struggled to adapt to European basketball and the level of competition, and now seeks a return to the U.S. league. A return that Lonnie Walker IV, on the other hand, has already secured, as he managed to carve out a starring role with Zalgiris Kaunas. He is averaging 13.6 points per game in 22 minutes, with 45.2% shooting from two, 33.1% from three, along with 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He will sign a two-year deal with the Sixers, per ESPN.
But how much time do Zalgiris and Real have to replace them? Both teams are expected to return to the market for a point guard/shooting guard. However, time is running out, as EuroLeague transfers close on Thursday, February 27, before the start of Round 27. As for Real Madrid in Liga Endesa, there is time until February 28 to sign a player from another ACB team. This period is extended until Monday, June 2, with the start of the playoffs, for players who have not played in Spain this season.
