ESPN reportedly laid off Zach Lowe few days after Adrian Wojnarowski's retirement
ESPN, a reference point for the NBA world, is losing pieces. Following the retirement of insider Adrian Wojnarowski, known for his “WojBombs” with which he used to anticipate news about the league's big stars (and not only), the U.S. broadcaster has fired Zach Lowe. A longtime face at ESPN, he was part of it for a decade after joining Bill Simmons' Grantland in 2012 and after a stint at Sports Illustrated. According to The Athletic, ESPN is going through major changes and there have been several firings: Lowe's salary of more than $1 million a year was the “most important factor” in his dismissal. In addition to writing for the ESPN website, Lowe regularly appeared on “NBA Today,” the network's daily NBA program, and hosted the popular “Lowe Post” podcast. His exit follows the firings of Robert Griffin III and Samantha Ponder.
