Xavi Pascual reportedly stay at Zenit with a new contract

Xavi Pascual will continue his head coaching career in Russia: the 51-year-old Spanish coach has reportedly reached a renewal agreement with Zenit St. Petersburg. The former Barcelona coach was on deadline and seemed to be in the running for the Blaugrana bench after Roger Grimau. However, the club decided to target Joan Penarroya. According to Mundo Deportivo, his salary at Zenit would be 2 million euros net per year, a far higher figure than Barca would have liked to spend. Efes had also seemed close to Pascual a few months ago, before the renewal of Tomislav Mijatovic.
